This Is Love Calling Earth...
...Do You Know How Much It Hurts
I fail...big time...but O EM GEE Extreme Crew is in town.

A few weeks ago I was wandering around Princeton, freezing, watching Princeton lose in a football game to Brown. Long story short Princeton is at the level of a sub-par high school football team. Seriously...they're smart...but smart kids are never known for their athletics normally. I mean I went to NYU, we're smart kids whose males failed at sports (our girls were pretty kick ass). So anyway, wandering, drinking coffee, going back to my area to eat lettuce wraps and drink lychee martinis. Went on a hayride at the local farm that I grew up going to. You know giant fields lots of people roasting marshmellows and freezing. Well before I got to the food, the drinks, and the hayride. I was running around to try and find out if I had missed the date for Planet Bboy's DVD release. I neglected to look online, well because I can be a tad slow at times. So here I am running around Saturday night for one main reason. God bless my friend.

Now...a mere 20 minutes away Planet Bboy is airing at the Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival with Benson Lee attending to do a Q&A. I fail...I just fail. I missed him speak at the New York Premiere and I somehow managed to miss him a second time around. After I spent the week prior going on a drunken rant about the globalization and ongoing flow between the east and west with a friend's friend.

In other news....I'M SEEING EXTREME CREW! Ahhhhhhh. *runs around like a maniaz*. Ballerina Who Loves B-Boy is finally doing an off broadway run until Dec. I almost broke into tears I was so happy when I heard about this. it's gonna be full of bad music, no plot...and I am going to weep with joy through the whole thing. Now...I just have to wait for Gamblerz to do their shitty movie for me to stalk their ass.

WING WOOOOOONNN RED BULLLL!!! i kinda predicted it, but i'm glad he did, his sets were unique and well executed.

i was pulling for taisuke after baek lost, but taisuke was soooooo nervous, it really showed and he crashed so many times. i think he could've won if he followed through. he'll get em next year though for sure.

my baby hong-10 was lookin so pimp, rawr.

i was roflolingmfao at ronnie's first round tko, bwahahaha, i'm sure that jabbawockeez/super cr3w dick rider honneywitsole or whatever that blogger's name is, is salty about it.

Alas I can't properly stalk Baek or Jun now. Their show has been canceled from all dates from today onward. It didn't really give explanation, but I imagine ticket sales weren't stellar (they did basically no promotion. I mean it took ME a month to find out.) I would be more upset if it was Rivers or Gamberlz but still upsetting. I'm going to go drown my sorrows at Kinokuniya by buying books/magazines I don't need and eating too much Yakitori.

Not that I don't love Wing, but was it just me or was Red Bull kinda...lackluster this year. I dunno, maybe I expected something more of the level I've seen before. Taisuke did look nervous though. He didn't look polished like he normally does.

P.S: Still came back from an injury after r16 built like a Daft Punk robot. It's like he's not even the same person. And Darkness is competing again...I can't tell if its an upgrade though. You can tell he's trying to actively be more like the Bronx and Brooklyn based bboys of the past. Which I can't tell is better because he is more rounded...or if he's giving in to the criticism people often throw at them.

are you talking about hong10's injury or someone else's injury?

i thought darkness was on or going on hiatus?
i thought his style was more nyc based too.
i think he's trying to get ppl to stop looking at him as a typical korean powerhead. good to see him expanding his repetoire, but fuck he was fly to begin with. i hope he doesn't lose himself in the process by trying too hard to be something else. i think all we can do is what and see what else he's got.

and yes, redbull was unremarkable this year. as much as i hate to admit it, 2 of the world's best bboys weren't competing this year and got promoted to judging. hmmm? i wonder why? hahaha
there's been SO MUCH noise about hong 10 getting fucking CRAZY within these 2 years, and probably just as much noise about lilou falling off. LOL.

damnit i was finished lj.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! it flopped??? whywhwyhwywhwyhwhy.
damnit i hope nyc has some huge bboy related event coming up soon. gamblerz' cheesecake movie better have them flying down to ny for some smexy promotion. LOL, i will laugh my fucking ass off, if they become mainstream because of this b2ghey movie, and have them guest performing on abdc or sytycd. nonetheless, damn the economy for keeping koreans away.

It also wouldn't surprise me if the show fell under the giant umbrella of NYC is not spending on frivolous things right now and $70.00 per person is a little steep for today. It's a shame because they picked possibly the WORST time to try and do an independent off broadway show like that.
